1964 -- Fort Wayne received
13.6" of snow...their heaviest 24-hour snowfall on record.
1994 -- Southern Indiana
received up to nine inches of snow.
1996 -- Seven inches of snow
fell on Williams County.
1998 -- Beach erosion during
an intense snowstorm destroyed one home in New Buffalo, Michigan and flooded
several. A home in Beverly Shores, Indiana fell into Lake Michigan.
Eighteen inches of snow fell from the 9th to the 11th at Rolling Prairie,
Indiana.
2002 -- Powerful large-scale winds swept
across the region. Most locations reported winds speeds over 50 mph...Elida
OH had a peak gust of 73mph. Two miles northeast of Edon (Williams County)
a barn lost its roof.
LOWER MICHIGAN
1996 -- Record subzero cold grips Lower Michigan with Grand Rapids and Lansing falling to 7 below zero and Muskegon hitting 6 below.
1998 -- Arctic air plunges across the Great Lakes after one of the warmest winters on record. The above normal water temperatures contribute to heavy lake effect snow squalls that produce blizzard conditions. From 8 to 12 inches of snow is piled into deep drifts by winds gusting over 40 mph.
